Built between 1845 and 1848, the church was designed by the renowned architects, Dickson & Brakspear. The original plan of the church is available on the Church Plans Online website.

Stewardship of the Church building

The Fabric Committee (a sub committee of the PCC) oversee the upkeep of the church building. The church yard is managed by Tameside MBC.

Our 'Quinquennial Inspection' (every 5 years) was conducted in June 2008, and is a thorough 'health check' of the building and the grounds by a Diocesan approved architect. This will help us to set our priorities for improvements to the church.

Our priorities for the next 5 to 10 years are currently being discussed based on the Quinquennial review.
